On April 27, 2012, the AFL Record, the official match-day program of the AFL, celebrated 100 years of publication. To commemorate this momentous occasion, The Slattery Media Group, official publisher of the AFL since 1995, has produced 100 Years of Grand Final Records – a boxed set comprising 11 hardback, full-colour volumes of every Grand Final Record ever published.
Published for the first time for round one, 1912, the Football Record’s edict was, “fair play is bonnie play.” A century later the AFL Record has grown in stature as one of the great sporting programs in world sport.
Made up of more than 7,000 pages this boxed set captures the development of Australian Rules Football, from its formative years through to the powerhouse it is today.
Limited to only 1,000 copies, 100 Years of Grand Final Records is the ultimate collector’s edition for any football fan. From Essendon’s Grand Final triumph in 1912, through to 2011’s 244-page souvenir edition, 100 Years of Grand Final Records will provide readers with an opportunity for reflection, as well as time to consider what lies ahead for our ever-growing game.
Note: For practical purposes all reprinted editions have been reduced/increased to a print size of 165mm x 240mm. From 1912-1966 The Record was pocket sized (A5). Since then it has been A4 equivalent.
